A political action committee for the interests of Northern Virginia technology has approved 35 state House and Senate candidates – some of them Democrats, some Republicans.
Before giving a nod, Northern Virginia Technology Council TechPAC spent six months reviewing the records of each candidate's votes and positions on matters important to the industry.
"Over the last six months, the Board of Supervisors NVTC TechPAC devote time and energy to evaluate the candidates try to represent the Northern Virginia technology business community as a member of the Northern Virginia Delegation of the General Assembly that," TechPAC NVTC Chairman Dendy Young, chairman and CEO of McLean Capital LLC, said in a prepared statement Friday.
"Although we are not involved in any race, we have supported 35 candidates, all of which we believe will support issues that are important to the community and champion of technology and investment policies to promote stronger Commonwealth," he said.
The Senate candidates supported by the group is Shawn Mitchell (D), Jill Holtzman Vogel (R), Charles Colgan (D), Caren Merrick (R), Janet Howell (D), Mark Herring (D), Chap Petersen (D), Dick Saslaw (D), Toddy Puller (D), Dave Marsden (D) and George Barker (D).
